We Have Lift Off!
Tuesday 13 March, 2012The University of Central Lancashire are after STEM students interested in becoming part of history as they aim to smash the Guinness World Record for the number of water bottle rockets launched in a 24 hour period.
The Water Bottle Rocket Challenge is set to lift off on 4th July 2012 with the support of NASA and the best thing is that UK schools are able to take part.
Through the website you will be able to download teaching materials and a ‘how to’ kit and put your school on the map as part of this global project.
The launch window is 12:00 GMT 4th July- 12:00 GMT 5th July 2012.
The first 1000 schools that register to take part will receive a free Rocket launch kit.
This project has been put together to celebrate the UCLan-NASA Hi-C mission which will launch in July 2012.
Schools can register for further information now at www.24hourrocketchallenge.com and will receive an alert when project registration opens.
